Bike Magazine — December 2008 — Red Bull Rampage, Mountain Biking & Gear

A wonderfully late-2000s issue of Bike Magazine, December 2008 (Volume 15, No. 8), packed with mountain biking photography, riders, bikes, gear, destinations and some of the biggest names and events in the sport during this era.

Cover highlights include the return of Red Bull Rampage, Photo of the Year, Trip of the Year featuring riding in the Alps, cold-weather riding gear and 12 of the next year’s most wanted bikes. Interior content includes action photography and features from the mountain biking world, including Rachel Atherton following her 2008 World Cup and World Championship successes, and Antoine Lacondeguy and his double backflip at Crankworx. The magazine also contains plenty of period bicycle and gear advertising, including a full-page back cover advertisement for the 2009 Kona Dawg Supreme.

With its colourful action photography, bicycles, outdoor scenery, bold graphics and period cycling advertisements, this issue is also an interesting source of paper material for collage, gluebooks, junk journals, scrapbooking and other arts & crafts projects.

Condition

Pre-owned condition with noticeable storage-related wear. The magazine appears to have previously been stored out of shape, resulting in bending, creasing, waviness and significantly dog-eared/bent page corners. The cover and first few pages show the heaviest folding and creasing, as pictured. Bent and dog-eared pages have been carefully unfolded and repositioned, and the magazine is now being stored flat to help it settle back into shape.

Further into the magazine, the photographed glossy interior pages present considerably better and remain colourful and readable, with some storage waviness still present. General handling, edge and surface wear is also present. Magazine remains intact and usable. Please review all photos carefully for condition details.

From a smoke-free home. Magazine has a clean, age-related magazine paper scent, with no noticeable musty or unpleasant odour.
